Perfect cleaned with nice design.
Good space in the rooms and very comfortable beds.
Friendly staff. Not the biggest variation at breakfast but it was still good and had good options + you can ask to get eggs from the kitchen.

"the location was beautiful, the facilities and rooms were spotless, and we made lots of use of the common space! the real star of the show was the manager/concierge dora - she helped us so much with getting around the city, recommendations for day trips, and making us feel so welcome and comfortable. she truly made our trip fantastic! we can not recommend staying here enough! "The Schafli is a companion hotel to the Hotel Uzwil which is a good 4*.
Breakfast was at the Uzwil, a 10 minute walk but worth it as an above average breakfast in a lovely clean restaurant.
The bedroom at Schafli was clean, good sized shower room and functional. No staff on site and seems to cater over business overnight customers.
Very handy for the excellent rain service across Switzerland and cheaper than Zurich"
"Loved walking around and shopping in charming, old Swiss Appenzell as well as the variety of restaurants. Our room was comfortable and the owner and employees’ attention to details made it special, like a terrarium in the bathroom, good breakfast included, limited parking in their lot, and a large selection of tv channels. "The reception was courteous and very helpful. Set me up with a hotel pass for the local transport. Gave me a map and provided useful suggestions Upgraded me when they realized it was my birthday. The breakfast was wonderful."
"Right in the centre of the town, so very handy for travel and eating. Self-check went well with easy opening of doors using phone. Room was comfortable and shower was great. Free breakfast items and hot drinks were a nice touch."
