I don’t really have any negatives to speak of. They have daily activities (some paid, some free), a huge kitchen with a much welcomed free food basket, and a cheap cafe/bar with a nice 10% discount to make it even cheaper. Nothing to complain about here. "

"I stayed in a shared room with 20 beds but only like 5 other people actually there. It was pretty chill, great location and access to lots of restaurants and downtown Auckland right there. Lots of lockers including under my bottom bunk, just used my own lock and had no issues with it. Showers nice and hot, very clean space overall. Great big kitchen and the staff was awesome. Would stay here or another haka lodge again for sure!"

"Tv wouldn't work. I went to reception, she changed the batteries around, but never came and checked. I was very tired and couldn't be bothered going back to her yet again. So, no TV. And the room smelled. The sheets were clean, if it wasn't for this I would have just gone and stayed somewhere else. "

"This Beachstay is in a beautiful location. The house itself is very well equipped and has great common areas and facilities. Beds super comfortable. Everyone very respectful and friendly. 10 minute walk to the beach, and 2 walking tracks within minutes walk."

"Last minute decision to stay the night and managed to find this place at very reasonable price. Close to the gas station and Maccas. Though off the main road, the unit is quiet. Clean and tidy, and hassle free! Lots of parking in the property, no need for interaction as they message you the details. Thank you for the stay!"

"False advertising. Rude staff. Beds with one small blanket in winter. Old building and freezing cold-no insulation. Bathroom tap didn't turn on. Booked for 3 nights, thinking it had a private bathroom as advertised. Upon check in found out no room had private bathroom. All shared. Refused to refund me any money. Even after showing them the advertisement online. Didn't stay and booked elsewhere. Only parking available is pay and display down the road that is more expensive than the room itself. "
