"Property lovely, high standard interior.
Staff on reception felt a little awkward as if on guard sat at a desk near the stairs but were always friendly.
Access was a little difficult due to cars parked around the entrance to the car park. I guess to avoid the additional charge per night extra charge which we paid. Upon leaving our car was covered in tree sap but it will wash off.
We stayed for 4 days and no one came into our room to empty our bins, replenish toiletries or restock the hot drink...
"Cute hotel, good location, modern, and nice to have the tavern attached for a drink and breakfast, but the double room was very small and with no closet, drawers or anywhere to put suitcases we had little floor space left. Too cramped for a couple but probably great for one person. Also it's loud if you have a room facing the square. I would stay again, but in a larger room at the back of the hotel."

"The room was very tired, wobbly floorboards, causing the wardrobe to rattle excessively. The bathroom again was tired, the shower was cold. Broken toilet roll holder. It was clean though. We were hardly in the room anyway, so it did what was needed. The fire alarm went off on the first night, which wasn't a nice wake up call. Luckily it was just someone vaping in their room. The staff were friendly though . I'm was about a 25 minute walk from the station there's a bus also. No 3 heworth cafe was...
"Just came back after a 2-night stay. The place was easy enough to find and we didn’t struggle for parking either, location is great.
However, as it is self check-in there isn’t anyone around. Everything is done via text messages and code locks. The first room we were given hadn’t been cleaned at all after the previous guests had left. I let the person at the other end of the text messages know, and we were “upgraded” to another room (slightly larger and had a bathtub instead of a shower). This ...

"We didn ’t stay! As the hotel decided to cancel the evening before the Coldplay concert due to weather! What absolute rubbish. So disappointed and would never consider staying there again. Even paid upfront and booked months in advance. If I had have cancelled within 24 hours I would have been charged! We had to book another hotel which cost us above the odds just so we could attend the concert. A very upsetting and stressful experience. "
"Friendly staff, easy to check in, spacey room for a solo traveller. The room was not super clean but clean and tidy enough, nothing to worry about. The location was good—walkable distance to the shambles and the bus stop to Whitby and Scarborough."

Owner Glenn is so helpful, resourceful and kind to have a chat. The volunteers Kasia and Dan are lovely to talk with.
It feels a very cosy hostel, not too crowded, noisy and neither a party hostel. I was visiting for tourism and leisure and while many of the guests staying here for work or business, there were no issues.
And Glenn kindly helped to sorted out a minor issue in the room very effectively.
Just a note there is no stove but a microwave...
