"Our room was beamed and the superking sized bed was comfortable. There was a very thick duvet - a bit too hot for the weather - but an excellent fan was already in the room.
Evening meal was good and a nice atmosphere in the bar and dining area. The waiter Connor was very attentive. Gluten free options are available but double check when ordering just to be sure!! Breakfast was self serve in a rustic kitchen . No GF options .
All in all , a good one night stopover and a good price. Would go ...

"Lovely spacious room, brilliant location in the heart of the Forest of Dean (we saw wild boar in broad daylight, just outside the hotel). Excellent meal in the the dining room in the evening of our stay. Online check-in didn't seem to have worked, but this may not have been the hotel's fault."
