"Beautiful old hotel that was remodeled recently in an excellent condition. Atmosphere is relaxing, and the staff was very helpful. Beautiful property with Dryburgh Abbey right next door.
Hotel is less than two hundred meters off the bike trail"
"I was in Rm 4, a small twin with ensuite. The window opened (hood) but unfortunately, right onto the alley where the cooking fan vented. It was quite loud but did stop before bedtime.
Breakfast was surprisingly included and very tasty. Did not have dinner as there was nothing small that I wanted to eat. I was later told by a customer that you could order half portions of the main menu items. I didn’t realize this and would have done so.
Good drafts on tap, staff were friendly but the room...
"A very warm welcome from our host Margaret. Issues with messages through Expedia led to not getting an updating message from her. Frustrating for her and us.
Good location.
Clean and comfortable. Helpful suggestions made for eateries and places to visit.
Will be staying again as it matched our requirements perfectly."
"Check in was not good. I traveled from a different country and needed wifi to get a code. I had to drive 5 miles to get to a friend to call the owners. The owners were in and out of service so they could only text.
When i finally got the proper code. It was 5 flights of steep stairs. It should have been told how many flights of stairs to go with a large suitcase."
"This was a great location for me to visit Galashiels. Its a lovely old manse building with nice clean big rooms and comfy beds. The owners of the guest house were on site, very friendly and welcoming. I had a sound night's sleep and woke to a lovely cooked breakfast with all the trimmings. I couldn't fault my stay.
There is plenty parking but lots of free street parking nearby anyway so no issues there. I wouldn't hesitate to book again."
"The staff was more than helpful, food was superb, room was cosy, because I couldn’t have breakfast they put me up a packed lunch.
More than happy to stay again."
"Convenient location bang in the middle of Selkirk. Hotel has a nice bar and restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. Breakfast very good but, at £35 a head, very expensive."
