"Fantastic trip to The Weir lodge at Whitekirk Hill! The site facilities are excellent for families and the staff were most welcoming. This was our first trip here, but it certainly will not be our last. Myself, my partner and 2 year old son spent the weekend here and had a great time. "This is the perfect place to stay and were it not closing in the near future, we would most certainly return. Jackie, her mum, Jackie's two little helpers and Milo all made us feel very welcome. The rooms are lovely and the lounge is wonderfully welcoming. The evening meals are just superb (and excellent value at £33 per head) and we wished we were staying longer. "Great place as a base for exploring the Borders. Overall stay was good. Room was exceptionally clean(had a couple of minor niggles but these were dealt with happily and swiftly). Stayed in a double which was quite small (with only one bedside table). Would 'upgrade' to a larger room if staying again. The best thing about this hotel is the people and the outstanding service they provide-nothing too much trouble and so friendly. Ooh- and good food including a fab breakfast. "

"This is a gem. An old established property that has been restored and upgraded to a very good standard, whilst retaining its essential character and sense of history and place. The location has stunning views - from our room, we had truly beautiful views to Bass Rock, Isle of May and towards Dunbar Castle and harbour. Excellent amenities in the room, with good quality tea, coffee and other refreshments. The staff were all wonderful - attentive, polite and efficient. The breakfast was first class and during our short stay we had two evening meals that quite simply were superb - every dish cooked to perfection and presented tastefully (pardon the pun). Could I nitpick? Probably. Would it be justified? Definitely not. This was a short stay of the highest quality and will live long in the mind as one of our most pleasant memories. Thank you to everyone."
