"San Jose is a 3rd world country with 1st world prices. Hotel is more like a resort, breakfast is available for purchase. No complaints about the resort but all over Costa Rica is very backwards, traffic jam always, pollution, air quality is very low, I don't recommend staying too long "

"This property was truly wonderful. The staff made it the best - Angie, Alejandro, Alex, David. They made this week very special. I highly recommend the indigenous hike, a meal in the nest, the nocturnal tour and the canyoneering. We were with friends - we were two adult women and two 1; year old daughters. We felt so safe and loved every minute! "

"Excellent hotel, superb staff who went out of their way to welcome and take care of us, top-notch food and helpful & efficient staff in the restaurant, very comfortable room and bed, overall superb. Downtown San Jose is interesting but a bit tatty, though a very prominent security presence was very comforting (though we did not tour after dark). The area is visually attractive but too full of souvenir shops, rather like New York's Times Square in the1980s. But the hotel itself more than compensated for the lack of neighborhood ambience. "
