"Booked as somewhere to stay whilst visiting Oulton Park for the weekend. Always worry when booking a budget style hotel, but was very happy with the standard of the room and facilities. Also good to know there are adequate parking spaces."

"Great pub/hotel and the family room we booked was very spacious, tea and coffee available in room with biscuits and bottled water in a fridge. wifi had good signal and easy to connect to although no usb points in the room. Plenty of sockets though including by the beds. Shower was powerful and hot and tubes of soap/shampoo also supplied. Staff very friendly and accommodating, remembered our drinks for breakfast and allergies for dinner. The breakfast buffet was good with a selection of hot food, which was actually hot on a buffet, a rare find. Only recommendation would be to provide more pastries, not just pain au choc. Food in restaurant was excellent and the price was good value too, portions a nice size and presented well, shame last orders were 830pm though. Pub had a pool table, pinball machine and some other games as well. Large, free car park which was a bonus. We were in the area for a wedding and this was a prefect stop over. Highly recommend if in the location."

"I have stayed here for at least ten years. The high standards I experienced from the first have been maintained. The rooms are bright, airy, well- appointed. The breakfasts are a treat. The Hollins family has been living here for at least 200 years. The sampler that a family member embroidered in the 1820s at the age of 8, on display in the dining room, is for me a wonderful piece of family history that makes this a special place to visit."

"Selected Wheatsheaf based on location travelling from Scotland to South Coast. We're told at reception that the room was up 2 flight of stairs but it would be worth it, Walking into room 12 our breath was taken away, it was definitely worth the climb. Dinner that evening and breakfast next morning we're excellent. Will definitely be back. Jim and Lorna"
