"Kenji was a very nice host and his "guest house English" speaking was wonderful!! It is a perfect location if you are looking to wake up early and walk to the bamboo forest, you can be one of the first people there. Kenji also gave us recommendations of places to visit in the area that you otherwise may not have known about. "
"A great ryokan with very friendly staff. The Japanese breakfast was the best we had in Japan! Our room was nice, clean, and had an amazing view. Great location! "
"The location is great- steps from the train station. Not a lot nearby in terms of food and most things close early when the tourists leave for the day. Which means it’s pretty quiet at night. Rooms are good size, not cramped like most of Japan. Windows barely open and the AC was not working well when we were there. "
"Nice and comfortable, but not convenience for taking train, taking bus is fine.
A little bit disappointed that there is no smoking room even I have booked smoking room.😅"
"This property is very cheap for the size and quality of the room. There was some questionable stains on the couch but besides that everything else was rather clean for the nature of the hotel"
"This place was awesome, excellent service, you feel the tradition in the place.
Breakfast was delicious, the tea ceremony was amazing.
The Onsen and the room were cozy and we left rested and renovated"

This hotel quickly became one of my favorite places to stay! I wish we had more time to enjoy it fully. The hotel offered a variety of on-site amenities, and the building itself housed shopping and dining options. They even provided coupons for some of the dining establishments within the building, which was a nice touch.
The restaurant we dined at was fantastic—the food was excellent, and it was conveniently located just downstairs. The hotel's location was ideal; it’s within a 5-minute walk to the station for the local line, making it very easy to get around the city. There was also a park and an aquarium nearby, providing great options for sightseeing and outdoor activities.
Access to all the locations we wanted to visit was incredibly easy, thanks to the close proximity of bus and subway lines. The pajamas they provided were so comfortable, making the stay even more enjoyable.
The only downside was the laundry facility—there were only four washing machines, and unfortunately, one was out of order. However, there was a coin laundry just an 8-minute walk away, so it wasn't too inconvenient.
Overall, this hotel was a beautiful place to stay and truly one of my favorites. I would definitely love to return!"
"We stayed at this hotel in both Kyoto & Osaka. Both have onsens but these felt superior. The massage chairs were also a great boost to what they offer and staff was great and helpful.
At a great location and a place I would absolutely return to when back in Kyoto.
Can be a bit busy during peak hours but still find times to take advantage of amenities. "
"Unlimited free coffee, tea and flavoured sodas was a nice touch, saved going out to buy coffee every morning. Laundry machines were handy however the dryer portion took long, so we hung some of our clothes to dry in our room.
Beds were clean and decent comfort. Bathroom and shower was fantastic. "
"Wonderful hotel in a wonderful location. The front desk was very kind and helped us with information and with luggage dispatch to our next destination. The bedroom was really good and spacious. Three minute walk from Kyoto station, so it was good to arrive and leave with Shinkansen and also to move around the city with train and subways. "
