"I was honestly a bit nervous about staying here, mainly because I'm a solo female traveller so staying anywhere unfamiliar is a little nerve wracking but also because of a few bad reviews. I stayed overnight as I was going on a long hike and needed somewhere to stay so I wasn't travelling back too late. The hotel held my luggage before check in then promptly handed it back when I was ready to check in, and they even held it again after check out so I could explore the city luggage free before my coach home. I was pleasantly surprised that I was on the top floor, as I am a big fan of the views and of quietness. They also had a couple of extras in the mini fridge for me for free and said it was an upgrade, maybe because I'm a new customer, but either way, it was a nice surprise. The shower didn't work, or at least, I couldn't figure it out, but the bath taps ran so I had a bath instead which was fine, the hot water ran which is all I needed after a long hike. For a three star hotel, I was pleased with everything and it was all clean. I didn't sleep the best as I was so nervous being on my own which is a shame because the beds were so comfy and the room was so big. As I plan to come to Sheffield again, I'd definitely rebook Great Western Hotel, in the hopes every room was like this one, and knowing there is nothing to worry about, so I'll sleep soundly. "Lovely clean room perfect for my family of two young children staying … Clean and comfy bedroom, plenty of added extras - mini fridge, iron, hairdryer etc. pool was lovely - warm pool and steam room/jacuzzi very nice. Tasty brekkie with so many options including a cute children’s table! Staff friendly and helpful and went to extra mile to make us a hot chocolate on the evening for our children with cute smiley faces on when that technically wasn’t on sale at the bar… We will definitely be going back!
