The Sun Inn
10/10 Excellent
"Good location and rooms good side with filter coffee and chocolate bars available. Breakfast was also really good along with ample parking. Check in was a bit odd with rooms and building unlocked and no food served on Tuesdays. Side saves were also dusty and staff unsure if breakfast was included which delayed my departure."

"Amazing place, wonderful staff. Don’t eat in the dungeon restaurant unless you are prepared to spend over 3 hours and 120 pounds each sampling very weird and unpalatable food. We had to leave half way through to get my diabetic daughter some actual food. The manager sent a tray to our room. Otherwise a wonderful place to stay."

"The hotel is large with plenty of comfortable lounges to relax in. There is an outside area for lunch or drinks if the weather is nice. The hotel is next to the ruins of Dryburg Abbey which is Def worth a visit. The food is good. Breakfast excellent with lots of choice. Evening meal was good. Staff were great. The hotel is clean and well cared despite being very old. Lots of places to walk in the grounds and beside the river. There is onsite parking"

Melville Castle

"A beautiful, historic castle outside Edinburgh. Room was very nice--bed comfortable, bathroom clean and roomy enough. Restaurant in the basement is a "must do." Steaks are cooked over a wood fire. Food was superb. Only negative was that I learned if you don't book directly with Melville Castle then breakfast is not included. I used a Expedia to book, so no breakfast included, which didn't seem right given the room prices. Overall a great experience. My wife and I would like to return sometime."
