"I had booked a twin room for 3 nights via Hotels.com. and the image on the website did not represent the room allocated to us. The room we were allocated was a very small twin room with the beds tightly next to each other looking like a double bed, with insufficient space to walk around each bed. This was not acceptable. The one bedside table provided had to be moved to another part of the room, which made the room very cramped indeed. We requested a proper twin room with beds a good distance apart. We were told they were all taken due to a wedding but that we could be moved the next morning. We also discovered overnight that the mattresses in the room were totally worn out and inadequate and went nearly flat when trying to sleep. You could feel every single coil in the mattress which meant we had a very poor nights sleep. The mattresses should have been replaced long ago. We were moved to another twin room the next morning and the manager apologised profusely for any inconvenience. This room was exactly what we had been expecting and the mattresses were really deep and seemed brand new. We enjoyed the rest of the stay including a swim in the swimming pool. The staff were extremely helpful and obliging at all times. The dinner on the first night was good and the breakfasts excellent."

"Most of the staff were lovely and went out of their way to accommodate requests or needs. Service for meals was fairly slow, so plan accordingly. Food quality and temperatures should definitely be I Improved. While the property was lovely, the furnishings were a bit shabby and worn down. It wouldn’t take much to raise the standard and impression. Finally, the write ups and marketing should be more truthful about what can be seen on property and how authentic the current building truly is. Those looking for royalty to have stayed at the ‘castle’ will be let down."

"We had a very comfortable stay at the Townhouse in this picturesque town. The bedrooms were lovely, beds and bed linens were sumptuous. And we enjoyed the dinner and large breakfast. We would definitley stay again."
