"Basic accommodation with some nice homely touches. Unfortunately, biggest issue for us were the external stairs up to the front door and also internal stairs to bedrooms. My 76yo mother uses a walking stick and I was temporarily on crutches too so we both struggled. Getting up the narrow outside steps in the dark with no lighting was quite precarious. "A great location, with Edinburgh Zoo to the rear and expansive views to the Pentland Hills in front. Parking was a breeze and good public transport into the centre - not far away. Indoors thoughtfully updated. The staff were skilled - professional, courteous and very friendly. We took a Compact room at a reasonable price. It was well designed, spotless, comfortable and quiet. Will definitely return, for longer next time."
