"Very spacious and clean. Nicely decored and homely. Everything you need is there and the host is very good and responsive to queries. The lodge is situated on a nice quiet camp site and has its own single carspace right outside. Basic toiletries (soap and showergel) were provided as were towels and bedding. tea, coffee and sugar were also there and the host provided a small pint of milk and a small pack of biscuits on arrival. "Served its purpose for a one night stop over, basic and a bit tired, stains on sofa and carpet, only one double sofa which sank when you sat on it so the third person had to sit on a hard dining chair. "Was a fab chilled week away. Watching shooting stars from the hot tub was awesome. Great location for national trust visiting and other historic places or if you wanted shopping there were towns for that. The lodge had everything you need. Downsides minor.. tv not having any signal but we knew our Netflix account so could watch that. People walking their dogs at night round the back of lodge with their torches when you’re in hot tub… frightens the life out of you!! 🤣"

"I have stayed at the Earl many times over the decades. The staff haven't changed and i think this is an indication of how well the hotel is ran. The ladies on reception and breakfast are lovely. This time we had room 406, lovely big room overlooking carpark. Very quiet. Highly recommend "
