"Best Western Thurrock Hotel is a good hotel if you need a place to stay and relatively cheap. It’s in a good location for Lakeside shopping centre, the M25 and the dartford bridge. The entrance to the hotel itself needs refreshing as the road is damaged with slight potholes so if visiting make sure to go slowly. Once on the grounds of the hotel there was good amount of parking and wheelchair friendly walkway to get into the hotel with a ramp. The reception on arrival is lovely and very welcoming, the hotel itself is very large and has a lot of bedrooms and suites as they host weddings. Short walk upstairs to the rooms, no lift so be aware when booking if you cannot do stairs. The rooms themselves need a really good renovation, they are very outdated, but a good large size. The first room (121) we checked into was horrible. The pipes for the taps were very loud and the smell from the drains were potent. We spoke to reception and they moved us with ease and they were fantastic about that, finding another room quickly and letting us view it first before choosing due to the past room being bad. The second room we checked into was great, minus the outdated carpet and VERY squeaky floorboards which definitely need to be looked at. The bathroom at a good size and renovated well with no bad smells or stains. The bed was comfy and it was a lovely night to sleep. Would stay again but this hotel definitely needs upgrading :) "

"Great location for lakeside shopping centre. Lots of parking. Friendly staff. Room is on the small side fine for a night but would struggle for longer. Comfortable bed and pillows. Hot shower and decent toiletries. WiFi is really poor just hitting 1mb! Had to use phone data to watch firestick. "

"There is no Spa. Our room was clean but only one towel ,cup for 2 people. No hairdryer in room. We booked including breakfast and then had to argue the point booking form said breakfast included but hotel said no. Also was given a 5 pound voucher for evening meal put voucher on table at start of meal and placed it on bar next to cash register to pay because we didn't actually hand voucher to cashier he refused to accept the voucher. I asked what we should have done with voucher he suggested we wave it under his nose. Reception staff no help refused to refund the voucher amount as well stating we should have made it more obvious."

"The hotel was undergoing maintenance which wasn’t made clear at the time of booking. Staff walked into our room without knocking. No clean towels were given unless asked for and there was hardly anyone around to ask. Staff were drinking cans of Stella on premises. Did not feel wanted at the hotel at all"

"This spa retreat is fully equipped with all needed to rest and rejuvenate in the same location. Everything and everyone was top tier in service and presentation. The only let down was the food and even that was fine it just didn’t match the other areas of excellence"
