"Historic building full of character, enclosed feel as surrounded by trees, friendly and helpful staff, good food, one nice touch was packed lunch available at no extra cost, even better if more soap etc and more comfortable seats in dining room."

"Good for overnight stay. Breakfast bought separately overpriced but quality & choice were good."

"Lovely staff Lovely accommodation with lovely food."

"Very comfortable family room, great beds and breakfast, warm hospitality and a fascinating insight into architectural history. "

"The staff were the best part of the hotel. Clearly someone is good at hiring. Physically, almost everything was a bit crooked and broken (including the door safety lock in our room, Ashover Suite). The Hamburger was disappointing at £18.50, given that it was clearly a frozen burger and cheap supermarket quality. The room was cold, and we could not figure out how to turn on the radiator, so i slept with my clothes on. The room was nice and grand, and i had a lovely hot bath in the morning. ...

"This was a last minute choice and what a good choice, everything was exactly as it should be, would definitely stay there again next time I’m in the area"

"Excellent hotel, easy booking in, bedroom lovely and very tasty breakfast. Very close to Opera House and centre"

"A wonderful stay"
