Everything about our stay was excellent! The Cartier Mansion is beautiful and impeccably maintained. The owners were very friendly and so much fun to chat with at breakfast. The only think we would have changed is we wish we had reserved the front room which is attached to the upstairs balcony. But the room we were in was great and we loved our stay.

This was such a unique experience and was most of the most beautiful hotels I've enjoyed. The location (just steps away from charming downtown St. Joe, MI and Lake Michigan) is wonderful, and the historical significance was so special. The Speakeasy was so much fun on a Saturday night and the drinks were DELICIOUS. The continental breakfast was tasty and fresh and very convenient. Could not gush more about what a special place this is!

Wonderful all around! Very well maintained, close to everything, comfortable bed, and wonderful breakfast. Will definitely stay here again when we’re back in Detroit!

Lovely setting and beautifully outfitted room. Second floor up stairs. Hosts Jude and Bob were so welcoming and friendly! They both added to our weekend with friends. Room was comfy and nicely sized. Bathroom clean and nice walk in shower. We stayed in the Chamonix room. Breakfasts were delicious and homemade. Excellent stay! Will definitely go back to the Black River Inn!

This small intimate B&B had a perfect location, charming ambience, and tops in comfort

The breakfasts were delicious and very nicely presented by Bob and Ellen. We stayed in the skylight room. The room is very nicely appointed but it is rather small. It's the smallest room in the house. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Ludington.

The B&B was in the most perfect location, just one block from downtown Saugatuck. The Inn’s breakfast was fantastic. We stayed in the Lily room which had it’s own bathroom. The yard is set up with small tables and chairs for a lovely respite anytime of the day. We drank wine in the evening and watched the birds in and out of the many feeders.

Very welcoming and cozy. Food was excellent! Owner and staff were kind and attentive.

The closer i got there it made me wonder where did they really put this place. If it wasn't for my research i would've never thought it was worth it. I had the most amazing relaxing time away. This has become my new run away spot!

Very beautiful cabin, lots of nature, pretty calm and the owners were fantastic and friendly. Definitely I recommend this place.

The stay here felt very comfortable and homely. The place is tucked away so you don't get traffic sounds or car exhausts. Breakfast every morning felt like I was a fancy bed and breakfast. The owners chatting you up about local sites, things to do, or just asking how your stay has been as also really nice.

It is a place to stop they had rooms casino was smoking and people were chain smoking all over so that was a bit too much at times. Lots of reserved slots machines but no one playing so that was a thing. We had some light night food and it was just okay not bad. Automatic coffee at front desk made me a cup of scalding hot water instead of a coffee I just left rather than waiting in line at the front desk trying for a refund. Lastly the casino had a few NPC s just wondering around never playing...
