"First time staying here and it was excellent for the price point, especially with free parking. Rooms plenty big enough, clean, if a little dated but that is minor point only, food in the evening was good and reasonably priced, breakfast was also good. Would give this another look and stay again if on business in that area."

"Parking was wonderful but breakfast changed from 09.00 to 11.00 must be reversed back to 09.00. A lot of people are not happy with this changes. Nobody wants to be hanging about due to work starting 09.00 away from the the hotel. 11.00 does not make any sense. I love this Royal Alfred and it's the best in the area. Thank you Emilia."

"The room was great, apart from the windows, we were overlooking the A580 so it was very noisy, difficult to sleep as the windows are not well glazed. The toilet roll does not flush so you waste water trying to re-flush it. We havent eaten here as we used the pub next door. The location is good. The staff friendlyv& helpful, ample parking. "

"The hotel was ok. The staff were lovely. There was a piece of rubbish under the chair in our room and a sticky coffee cup mark on the unit by the bed and we had to get out key card reset twice as it stopped working. These things wouldn’t put us off from staying there again as the overall experience was ok. "

"Room was very basic was traveling with family so we asked to check in early charged us £30 but our daughter who travelled with us room was already ready when she arrived for them but we got charged which I wasn't happy with. Hotel rooms were very basic, hitel reception area was nice the bar staff were very slow and even forgot at coffer we had asked for at one point had to ask again didn't get breakfast but had a breakfast sandwich from bar before was left was nice. Would stay again but need to upgrade rooms and needs a bit of tlc."

"Awful rooms which were not clean, breakfast not great. Staff were lovely though. Had 4 nights booked. Checked out after 1 night & got alternative accommodation. "
