"A good location and the hotel was an impressive building in itself. The reception area was clean, large but welcoming, with areas off it to sit or eat and drink looking very inviting. My room was spacious and well equipped. The bathroom was spacious too. The shower tray made rather a noise as I stood on it and moved but it felt secure. I ordered a meal which was nicely served and totally delicious. The wine was very good too. There is a BIG disappointment however in that on the second day I arrived back at my room to find that it hadn’t been serviced. My tea tray was as I’d left it with dirty mugs. Nothing in the room had been cleaned or renewed. These things can happen but it’s how they are sorted that counts. I was VERY disappointed with the follow up, in every respect. It tainted what had, up until that point, been a very good experience."

"Ive stayed in nicer rooms , ive ate in nicer bars but ultimately its the people that make a hotel. And the people at wilde thyme and honey are fantastic. A special shout out to Izy who couldn't do enough to help. The rooms are cosy and warm with thoughtful touches like pillow spray and a spot of sloe gin which was beautiful, the on site restaurant/ pub was lovely with a great drinks selection. The pantry is a useful addition for extra bits that you may need during your stay. One genuine gripe is that the car park is dangerously dark after dark. There is no lighting at all. All in all it was great. I would return for sure."
