"Our family was on a 10-day road trip from Texas to California, and this was our last stop on the way home—by far our favorite of the entire trip! Traveling with our 3 kids and a pup, there was truly something for everyone. We loved the rich history paired with modern conveniences. The unique wildlife on the beautiful grounds made it even more special. Lisa is the heart of the place, and our 5-year-old adored Roman. You have to try the amazing onsite food. Overall—just wow. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!"

"We stayed at Wendy’s cabin with our 8 year old granddaughter and had a great time. We really loved the cabin. The sofas and recliner were very comfortable. Our granddaughter loved the humming birds, there were too many to count. Loved sitting on the front porch drinking coffee on the cool mornings. It was so quiet and peaceful at night. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very dark at night which was perfect for a great night sleep. Wendy is a great host and very responsive to all your texts. She made it a great stay for my wife and I for our 46th anniversary. And of course our granddaughter loved exploring outside, rock hunting and loved being swarmed by the humming birds. Thank you Wendy for sharing your Hideaway with us. Look forward to coming back. "

"Wanted to charge $25 each night even though my dog was a service dog."

"Best part was a friendly person at the desk. The room was a pet friendly room. Smelled like we were sleeping in a doghouse. Floor was sticky and the headboards had to be wiped down before we were comfortable sleeping near them. Overall condition of the place was run down. Will not stay here again."

"The house was clean and in good order. The houses are more like cabins in nature versus what one would find in connection with a weekend VRBO. The kitchen was equipped. There is no washer or dryer on property. The bedrooms were clean and spacious in both houses. The fire pit, children’s play equipment and grill area were a great bonus. River entry is good for younger families or those who have no difficulty with three levels of steps. The host’s instructions were clear and concise. The house is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to Garner State Park and Lost Maples State Park. The stars at night were beautiful. The mornings were crisp, cool, and the river so very clear. We enjoyed our stay! "
