"The room had everything you would expect. The bed was comfortable. It was a pity that the TV was unusable because there was not remote! Parking was available a short distance away. The room overlooked the square and voices could be heard quite clearly. There were also clock chimes every 15 minutes, but they weren't intrusive."

"Janet was a great host and the accomodation was all that could be asked for. It is a fantastic location for walking and this part of the Lake District is much less crowded. Broughton in Furness has a great bakery/ coffee shop and a butchers. The local pub food was excellent. We stayed for a week and could have stayed longer."

"Lovely cottage which provided everything we were looking for in a holiday away from all the hussle and bussle. It is spacious, quaint and perfectly situated in peaceful and beautiful surroundings, stocked with all essentials. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Dickinson for replying to our initial heating queries so quickly and for the welcome gift. The property is old so be prepared for the squeaky floorboards and rickety staircase, as well as spiders. A small sacrifice for being out in the sticks. We loved every moment.(It may be worth noting the hot water works when the blue light in the bathroom cupboard is turned off)"

"This is a lovely, comfortable, clean property. It is on a very remote area so you need to be comfortable driving on single track, two way roads. The owner gives a full page description of how to get to the property. The reason I rated the property a 4 star was that I wasn't aware that the unit I rented was up a set of wet stone steps with no railing. I am 71 with a bad leg. This should be mentioned in the description. Otherwise, great place."
