"Be aware there is a $25 per day "ameneties fee" that is added to your hotel bill...I find this a sneeky way of charging for things the hotel says is free...like the breakfast and shuttle service to the town's main street shopping area. The shuttle is ok if you truly need it...say on the weekends and/or for non drivers. As for the breakfast...meh...lacks in variety and size compared to other better hotel complementary breakfasts (no cereals, milk,waffles, or hard boiled eggs- just the so-so scrambled eggs and the oatmeal was pre-made in a large bowl...not great if you don't care for the way its made). On the plus side, this place has a nice irish country/pub vibe and an on-site restaurant and pub."

"The room was beautiful: spacious, nicely decorated, and very clean. Unfortunately, other parts of our stay didn't match it. The jacuzzi tub in our room wasn't working, which was a letdown since it was one of the reasons we chose this property. We were traveling to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary, so before our trip I contacted the hotel to ask if they could arrange something special for us. I was happy to pay extra, but I never heard back. When we arrived, I brought it up again at the front desk, but the receptionist didn't seem to be having a good day and wasn't very helpful. For a special occasion, we hoped for more attention and better communication. The room itself was lovely, but better responsiveness from the staff and a quick fix for the jacuzzi would make a big difference for future guests."

"Nice clean room, Extra sink was a plus. Spacious and quiet! The guy who checked us in was super nice and helpful! If I’m being really picky it could use a newer bigger TV, and quieter bathroom fan! Nice place! Would stay again!"

"Hands down one of the most beautiful stays! Loved the character of the 1800 building, attention to detail, wonderful breakfast, outdoor eating and relaxing atmosphere in several locations, kind and helpful staff, private parking, ease of check in, a text in the evening asking if I needed anything, wonderful bedding, and a comfort of home vs feeling like you were in a builder grade hotel. Will be back! Thank you Hotel Galena"

"Only thing was that we believed the carriage house had 1 room turned out it had at least 3 rooms with guest. They could pay more attention to details. Holes in wall and ceiling of bathroom needed to be addressed before renting out."

The Steamboat House Bed & Breakfast

"the breakfasts were amazing. Carol and Kate were great hosts. My wife and I only had one complaint, that was the bed was way too soft. This is obviously personal preference. We would definitely stay here again. Galenda is an historical town with a lot of charm. We loved our trip. The Steamboat House was a great place to stay. Thanks Carol and Kate."
Aldrich Guest House

"Far beyond what we anticipated. Warmly greeted and show to our room. Top line toiletries and added touches. Yes our room was small but well appointed and we did not plan to spend much time in the room. Wine and cheese at 5:30. 3-course breakfast at 8:30 am. Amazing! Will be back!"
