"Staying at the Irish Cottage was a delight. The front desk staff, wait staff, food and entertainment were wonderful. We used the shuttle whose driver was very accommodating. However, we were surprised by the extreme jump in the room rate on the weekend and the nightly 'amenity' charge."

"Carol is very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Room and bathroom were clean and bed was comfortable. The front porch and yard were kept nice and inviting. The seasonal Halloween decoration inside the property was outstanding. This was our first time staying in Bed N Breakfast facility so I'd compare with my experiences with Hotels. Though I've chosen their best and only room with balcony, I felt cramped in the room, there wasn't much space around the queen size bed. A 19 inch TV was on the dressing table and a small table fan. Though the balcony was nice and wooded view was decent the screen were very dirty. Evening wine was good served with cheese, crackers and grapes. Night hot water and assortments of tea bags as well as morning coffee were decent. If I go back there, I would definitely consider this place again."

"Galena Inn was amazing! We had a late check-in Friday night and they were very accommodating to help us get in. The breakfast was homemade every morning which was a wonderful touch. The mornings we stayed, there was quiche and pancakes. The hot tub was also an incredible added bonus and we got plenty of use out of it! Our place was just a short walk away from Galena‘s Main Street so we didn’t have to navigate Main Street parking. There were lots of stairs down to Main Street though (198 to be exact) so plan on a good workout! I would recommend staying here to anyone!"

"Scenic grounds. Our room (Mississippi Suite) was beautiful with a lovely view. The screened in deck was a bonus (comfortable furniture included). Breakfast delivered to our room was so yummy. We enjoyed a delicious dinner on site that definitely impressed. Only a short drive to downtown Galena. We will definitely return"

"We had a great time at the property. Very big, plenty of room to spread out. Things were clean and comfortable. Host was easy to work with. We really enjoyed having multiple living rooms with plenty of seating. Rec room in garage was a fantastic plus. Only a few things that were a little unfortunate. We had no luck with the dishwasher. It did not seem to work, we filled it to run at night, saw it turn on and run, but when we awoke the dishes were all very dirty.The hot tub wasn't in the best shape, but we contacted the host and they sent someone to fix it promptly. We appreciated that at least!Lastly the property had a bit of a wasp problem. When we arrived there were 3 wasps inside the house. There were maybe 10 on the screen porch so we weren't able to use that area. We couldn't open any of the windows in the house because nearly every screen had a tear in it (likely how the wasps got in). We located a few cans of wasp poison spray in the pantry, but they were all empty. There was also a large collection under the lid of the hot tub.We were able to avoid them, but the property could use a pest inspection to remove their hive.Aside from those minor inconveniences, we loved our time and would stay again."
