"Just ok. Staff was good, rooms were not very clean."

"We had an amazing stay here with our family—my wife, our 4-year-old, and our 6-month-old baby. From the moment we arrived, everything felt top-notch. The property is absolutely immaculate, and every detail is clearly well cared for. What really stood out was the staff. Across the board—valet, bell staff, front desk, housekeeping, pool attendants—everyone was incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Traveling with young kids can be a lot, but they made it feel easy and comfortable. The food at the restaurants was also outstanding. Every meal we had was excellent (though I might personally vote to take the molé sauce off the chicken 😄). There was one slightly odd moment during our stay. While we were enjoying some quiet family time at the pool (we were actually the only guests there), a manager was actively training the pool staff right in front of us—having them role-play conversations with guests. It felt a bit awkward and out of place in that setting. The funny part was, as we were leaving, the staff he was training did a great job saying goodbye—but the manager himself didn’t acknowledge us at all. A little ironic given the training topic. That said, it was a small and somewhat amusing moment in what was otherwise a truly 5-star experience. Overall, we were extremely impressed and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend, especially for families."

"We booked a 3-day stay at Seaside Inn & Suites for our first ever visit to Santa Cruz. Unfortunately, the room we were given was not consistent with the photos of this property on Expedia and lacked basic amenities. The bedside tables had no lamps nor were there wall reading lamps; the only lighting in the room was very bright ceiling lights. When I asked if we could be moved to another room that had bedside lights, the manager said there was no other room available. His solution was to bring a lamp, but there was no accessible electric outlet on my side of the bed and he had to plug it in on my husband's side. When my husband plugged his phone charger into the same outlet, the lamp went out. The A/C and heating wall unit was leaking water onto the floor. The manager saw the water and wiped it up with dirty looking rags which he then left under the unit. Lastly, the bathroom and shower were very small and lacked a light in the shower. Due to these issues we checked out after one night. Expedia handled our complaint promptly and satisfactorily."
