Very quiet with beautiful grounds. Restaurant staff very courteous.

The only thing that was missing for us were washcloths. Maybe that’s not a thing in the UK. We asked for washcloths and they said that they don’t provide them.

It is a very nice hotel with lots of parking space. Wordsworth's graveyard is next door, and it may have the most beautiful surroundings in England, if not the world.

Lovely home in the Lake District. The parking can be tricky during the day so arrive after five and there’s no issue.

Melrose Guest house is a beautiful place to stay in the Ambelside, Lakes National Park, and Windemere area. It is conveniently located in town by restaurants, ships, and trails. The room was spotless and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing every day of our stay. This is the place to stay in Ambelside!

Enjoyed a great 3 night stay at the Hideaway. This is a true Bed & Breakfast. Our bed was comfortable and our private bath had been nicely modernized with helpful shelves and racks. The breakfasts were prepared to order from a balanced menu. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Due to the rain we did not get to enjoy the outside sitting area but it looked inviting. Wonderful bed and breakfast to stay during weekend getaways. I was a tourist from the USA and the property owners were polite, attentive and courteous. The room was spacious with windows overlooking the lake. I would highly recommend this location for you future stays at the Lake District!

The bedroom and bathroom were lovely, the breakfasts amazing, the staff always happy to help and the location just off the A590 was perfect for exploring the whole Lake District. My only rejoinder was that the stairs to the rooms are a little challenging for someone like me who is mobility impaired. Additional banisters and/or handles would greatly help but I managed overall and we were very happy with our stay. Evening meals were exceptional too. Hazel, Ian and Auntie Chris were wonderful hosts. We had a shared bathroom that was no problem. Beautiful old manse with attractive, professionally gardened grounds. Room was like out of a movie. Orchids, fresh flowers, beautifully furnished and kept. Bathroom was huge with upscale amenities. Royal Worchestershire china and nicknacks. Breakfast included and fit for royalty. After a busy week exploring Scotland, my boyfriend and I decided to make a stop for a couple of day in the quiet town of Windermere to get some rest and relaxation before continuing onto our busy adventures down in London.
