Melrose Guest house is a beautiful place to stay in the Ambelside, Lakes National Park, and Windemere area. It is conveniently located in town by restaurants, ships, and trails. The room was spotless and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing every day of our stay. This is the place to stay in Ambelside!

Perfect stay! The inn is lovely and cozy owned by a wonderful couple who made me feel right at home. The breakfast was great and very reasonably priced. They even agreed to store my baggage for several days while I hiked in the region. Can’t recommend enough!!

Very well mainted hotel room with upgraded finishes throughout. It was a small room with only the countertop near the foot of the bed to put our bags. We moved the coffeepot and in room ameneties off the countertop so we could fit each of our suitcases. It was a tight fit. But the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet

Everything was great! We arrived late and John was very understanding to wait up on me. Breakfast was delicious - they even have vegan option. Location was literally perfect for a nice easy hike up Loughrigg Fell. Bonus - we even got a book from John and Megan! Thank you for being such wonderful hosts!

Wonderful hosts. Great breakfast. Updated modern bathroom. Clean comfortable bed room. Ambleside was great place to stay. So many good restaurants nearby. Laundry mat around corner. Short drive to all kinds of activities. I’ve never seen so many outdoor stores before! Really good stay!

Nice sized room. Matt was such a friendly host. Made my wife and I a great breakfast. Very convenient location to the Keswick market. Only a 5 minute walk. 20 minute drive to Grasmere village. We would definitely stay here again.

Really lovely B & B just a few minutes walk into the centre which had plenty of independent shops, cafes and restaurants It’s also near the Orrest Head walk with spectacular views. We ate at Tapios one night for delicious tapas and highly recommended them. Our second night we ate at The Pig ( name changed to Tilly’s ) and had their Cajun chicken burger… yummy! Victor and Johanna were so friendly and warm, we felt valued. The breakfasts were delicious! The hotel was clean, comfortable and we appreciated the easy parking. Being so close to restaurants and the town center made walking about so easy. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

Room was clean and comfortable and well-located for strolling in town. Breakfast was also good with plenty of choices and staff were very friendly. No complaints!

The place was wonderful. The only flaw was the difficulty I had finding the transportation they promised from the airport/train station, since there were no signs. I could see the place from outside, but I couldn't figure out how to safely walk there.
