"We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Braintree three times during our visit to the UK. We were particularly impressed by Kinliegh who seemed to be here, there and everywhere but still had time for the guests. Two observations, the temp controller in room 143 wasn't responding to altered settings and displaying an error message. The breakfast room seems inadequate for the number of guests compared to other Holiday Inn's, It's something we also noticed from a previous stay in 2016."

"The room was great, including lots of space, a bathroom with bath and shower and his and hers wash basins. and a comfortable fourposter bed. The bar closes quite ealry (about 10pm when I was there) and there was no restaurant/food service in the evening. The breakfast was excellent. The area can be a bit noisy with traffic and a railway level crossing nearby but, to be honest, this wasn't noticeable when sleeping The TV was a bit dated and the remote control probably needs replacing."
