"The staff at the hotel were all extremely friendly, nothing was to much trouble. Bed was very comfortable, good pressure on shower, the room has everything you may need, even an iron and ironing board. Overall brilliant stay."

"A grand place with very polite staff. Breakfast was very nice with many different options. Parking is easy and the leisure facilities were perfect for after work. The one evening meal I tried was very nice although the portion size was a little small for the price, the bar is a tad expensive also. Regardless I've booked another stay for work. Great place."

"Beautiful hotel with a great history - from the drive up to the hotel you get a good feeling. Parking was straight forward just remember to put your registration number into machine at reception. Reception staff were amazing - didn't get his name but what a credit to himself and the company - so friendly - polite - helpful and upbeat - great start to the stay. Through the amazing old house to our room - we even got a complimentary room upgrade (thank you) old sweeping staircases - oak panelling top quality. Our room was wonderful - great big bed - quality stylish furniture - espresso machine was a nice touch - bathroom top notch - great big shower with rain fall shower head - top quality toiletries. Back through the hotel to the spa / leisure facility really nice sauna - pool - gym (just a point it can get busy as it as has none hotel members. Bar area was lovely sat out and enjoyed the sun on the decking then back into the bar to chill.Breakfast was fantastic - self service loads of choice cooked breakfast - cereal - fruit - pastries. Were able to chill in the lounge area with a coffee and just watch the world go by. Walks around the hotel are nice - with some of the most friendly cows I've every met - coming to the fence and wall for a pet. Loved the stay and will certainly be back again when we are up in the area. "

"We arrived early and asked if we could possibly check in and fortunately we could. Nothing was too much trouble and all of the staff were very helpful. Our family joined us for breakfast the following morning and again all was good. I would definitely recommend a visit."

"Our second visit to this delightful establishment. The setting and surrounding area is so pretty, plenty of parking spaces and an easy walk to the nearby bar and restaurant. The staff are so welcoming and have time to talk to you, most important in my opinion Checking in was easy. We booked a suite and we were very happy with it as it was stylish and also had everything we could possibly need including a Nespresso coffee maker!! The bathroom was large enough for a lovely walk in shower, large bathtub and double hand basins and was tastefully decorated The bed was supersize and very comfortable - a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was a joy. Freshly cooked and choices of cereals, fruit & yogurt plus delicious home made granola! We shall definitely return to Fence Gate Lodge in the future and thoroughly recommend it."

"Excellent stay. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and the staffs at the reception were very professional, polite and resolved all our concerns and queries. The environment was clean , room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. We ate at the Wilfred's restaurant , bertram and the lounge, food was top notch to all of them👌 . Thumps up to all the chiefs there. The security man, Roy was exceptional, very friendly, funny and always willing to help with information. We have enjoyed our stay so much and we will definitely come back ."
