Never been to Watford (from US) but took a chance. Turned out to be an amazing place. Cool old UK pub and above, modern chic rooms. Ann Maria was the bartender and hotel host and she was outstanding and a hoot. She treated us like family from the moment she met us. Sean the manager treated us the exact same way. Great people and very friendly. The English breakfast is huge, and extremely tasty. The bed was a little bit lumpy, and might need to be replaced soon, but I would stay with them again if I were to go to Royston again.

Stayed for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed the stay there. Friendly staff and facilities are excellent with well maintained grounds and gardens. Nice spot to get away from the hustle and bustle yet be relatively close to London.

Very clean and convenient stay if you’re in Watford for the day going to Harry Potter Studios in “London”. It’s actually about 20 min from LHR airport and 45min-1Hr from London proper. The staff was super helpful with charging adapters, towels , and directions. It was a short, clean stay! Recommend for day trips to Watford if you’re going to HP studios.
