"The host is very welcoming and enthusiastic to share places around. This is a traditional Japanese style living on tatami and Japanese futon along with a shared public bath. You will have the best rest sleeping on those futon in this quiet neighborhood. 7-11, Daiso, coin laundry and buses to major attractions are all within 5min of walk. "

"Me and a friend stayed for two nights as we wanted to explore areas of the Kansai region. It was such a nice experience! We didn’t end up trying the public baths, so I can’t comment on that, but the room itself and the futons were great ^^ When I think walkable, it may be different to someone else’s walkable, but transport (bus) is okay to get around— it is pretty busy though so take at your own caution if you have a large suitcase. "This is the perfect place for an authentic Japanese experience. The staff are wonderful and the meals are superb. Tranquil surroundings with a 5 star multi-course meals each day for breakfast and dinner. The sauna and hot baths were great for winding down after a day of touring. Touring was easy because bus lines and train lines are nearby. We were sorry to leave the Tea House and really hope to return some day. "

"Our stay here was absolutely amazing during Obon festival. It is walking distance from Kyoto station, two malls and 3 conscience stores within 5 min walking distance. The staff is kind and very helpful with providing any food recommendations and as well as quick guides (ie., direction and history) to near by events. The amenities were amazing and available on the lobby and encouraged to take what you need as a part of the eco friendly initiatives in the hotel. There is a public bath accessible for guests and massage chairs at a cost. There is a laundry change machine available on the first floor but I do recommend avoid using the laundry machines, if possible. There are only 5 machines with both wash and dry functions on the same machine so there is quite a bit of wait for a machine and after completing a wash/dry cycle, your clothes are still wet. Otherwise, the entire stay was amazing and would definitely stay here again. "
