"A very comfortable and enjoyable short stay at The Village Hotel - and very handy for the Ovo Hydro where we saw 'Two Doors Down'. Bus stops were nearby - both Hop On/Off type and ordinary ones - so was easy to get around Glasgow. When we needed a taxi booking, the reception staff were happy to do so - and the taxis arrived promptly. The hotel had nice 'industrial style' contemporary decor, was well maintained and the rooms were very comfortable, clean and spacious. The restaurant food was nice enough - burgers, steaks, etc - and breakfasts were delicious. There were plenty of tables in the restaurant, so never felt squeezed in. All in all, for our first visit to Glasgow, we had a great time and staying at this hotel only enhanced our visit. Thanks!"

"The staff were very helpful and courteous. The room was nice and clean and it was great to have air conditioning, especially as the room didn’t have any windows. The cheese and wine on a Saturday night for guests is a great idea. Would book a room with a window next time, but overall was a great 2 nights"

"The hotel room was clean, spacious with a comfortable bed and very modern appliances-steamer/iron, hairdryer & coffee machine all good spec. Toiletries were generously sized and smelled great. Location ideal for trains, shopping and we weren’t distracted by noise. I’d read in some reviews that there were Tunnocks snacks in the rooms, but we only had crisps. However, the cans of g&t & bottles of lager, plus cans of juice and water were a nice addition. The coffee pods from a local shop were lovely too. Sadly, the stay was seriously impacted by an issue with the hot water. There was none when we returned to our room at night, (lukewarm at best) & although reception quickly acknowledged the issue, and apologised profusely on check out, there was no offer of a partial refund etc, which was disappointing considering I’d purchased that room for the bath, instead of just a shower. The water was hot again eventually in the morning. The touch controls for the shower and bath stuck a bit/required several pushes. We didn’t have breakfast, so can’t comment on that. Overall, some lovely touches in rooms, the same very helpful and friendly reception staff-but felt like we’d slightly overpaid considering the hot water issue."
