"the location is great. We were there for a family holiday with a young child. The staff was being told that it was my niece’s birthday. When we returned from the attraction, they had prepared a very sweet letter and some gifts for the little girl. She was so touched. We feel so great with them. The hotel team is so great with kids. They know how to interact with them and keep them engaged with some very thoughtful gifts. The only tiny thing is the aircon making some noise for one of the room. But they have responded so quickly, overall we still would give it 5 out of 5 for our experience. Breakfast is also great"

"Lovely hotel in Barcelona and a great location distance-wise to all the attractions and beach. Great amenities in the hotel. Gym was fab. Rooftop pool and bar were a brilliant place to chill out after exploring all day. Great 360 view. Rooms bright, clean and modern although the cleaning could be haphazard. We had to ask for towels a couple of days as they had been taken and not replaced and not everything in the room got refilled every time but the cleaning was great every day. Reception staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and were helpful to speak to at any time of day or night which was lovely. However be aware that it’s not the nicest part of the city. There were a lot of homeless, drunks and others in the immediate vicinity and it didn’t feel comfortable to me or my teenagers being outside, this is compared with other neighbouring areas. A couple of guests reported jewellery being stolen from them in the street outside which is a shame for such a nice modern hotel."

"Great stay at Hotel 1898! Rooms were large and clean, staff were very helpful, great rooftop pool and lovely spa downstairs with a heated pool, sauna and steam room."

"The hotel is a good location near plenty of good restaurants, shops and bars. The rooms very comfortable but tired. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was plenty of choice but would quality wasn’t great. The terrace bar was closed upstairs and only one hot tub was working - shame. For families - there are no connecting rooms."
