The whole place is a joke, no sauna no dressing gowns, the breakfast was self serving and very poor, plus the room was so hot it made me ill and the receptionist blamed COVID for everything 😂

There was no air conditioning in the property and the room was stifling, had to keep window wide open all night but even with this and a small fan the heat was unbearable! Rooms are dated, traditional style in keeping with the building but could do with a make over feel old, TV's and furniture would benefit from an overhaul! Also found toenails on carpet behind the bin - reported this to reception!

Really peaceful and pretty surroundings, check in staff was very helpful getting us a taxi and was very friendly. Room was clean, bed was very comfortable. Shower was very powerful and room came with a Fan as it was very warm.

Great location, nice rooms only let down by very noisy door banging throughout the night and early morning so not much hope of getting a decent sleep. Soft door closures would be nice.

A most enjoyable stay

When we arrived in reception the duty staff member was very friendly and polite. We were given a free upgrade so that we had a little more space in the bedroom. Throughout the stay all staff encountered were very helpful and attentive to any needs we had.

Easter break

The hotel is set in beautiful grounds. I stayed in a room in an annexe and my check-in would have been a better experience if someone had shown me to my room instead of dragging my cases back and forth until I eventually had to return to reception to get further instructions. The bedroom was smaller than I expected and not to the standard of the rest of the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bill was more than I had been quoted when I first booked and the invoices were not clear. I had called and increased my booking from one room to two but because I had spoken to the hotel directly and not amended the booking though Hotels.com I was given a poorer deal on the second room. Lovely Easter lunch.

Night of style.

A one-night visit. Superb location. Attentive service in the restaurant for dinner. The menu was varied and well prepared and presented. Stayed at this hotel some 40 years ago, and it is still worth every star.

Booked for a couples night away, hotel grounds are beautiful, peaceful and the room was spacious. Couldn’t stay overnight as child was ill, so we had to leave. But for the time we was there, we enjoyed our time.

Staff helpful and professional.

Booking room was very easy. Room comfortable temperature and beds comfortable. Staff very helpful and friendly. My meal ordered on my first night was a smaller portion than I was expecting and had to order some vegetables at extra cost. The Pecan Pie was very tasty. Lovely Hotel in lovely surroundings.
