The hotel is in a perfect location in the centre of Utrecht. It is indeed a boutique hotel, small, cozy but with a vision and a concept behind it. We were there overnight. A very short drive out of town. The hotel is lovely. Staff were friendly, room was much bigger and more comfortable than what's available in town for the same price. Definitely worth it if you have a car. Not much in the neighborhood; in the summer I am sure the green areas would be beautiful, but it was winter so they were a bit grey and rainy (well, it's the Netherlands!).
