"Food was really amazing in the buffet, you never tired of the variety and quality. Pool and the beach service was great, overall friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was outstanding. Everything in the hotel is very clean and well maintained and the room quality was 1st rate. One minor issue in the maisonette is the very small wardrobe in the upstairs bedroom a small set of drawers would help. Top hotel."

"We loved Avli Lounge! The hosts were so helpful and kind and the breakfast was extraordinary. We ate by ourselves in a sun-filled courtyard with blooming orange trees and flowers and the food was delicious and very generous. The room was extremely comfortable. We would definitely come back!"

"We stayed at Civitas for 9 days and it was a wonderful experience . The location in Old Town Was the Best! We can’t say enough about the Staff, they were all so welcoming and helpful we really felt at home here . Our breakfast was amazing lovely area to enjoy the morning as well beautiful view of the harbour . If you don’t like stairs than I would recommend one of the apartments that are all on one level . Very beautiful and spacious . We will recommend this unique hotel to any friends we know that are coming to Beautiful Rhythmno ❤️😊"

"Lovely boutique hotel in the centre of Rethymno. We stayed in the loggia suite (one bed plus a living room with sofa bed, two bathrooms). Very tastefully decorated, great bathroom(s) really good powerful shower and the property felt well maintained and cared for. Very good complimentary breakfast. The only negatives or points for improvement (these seem rather nit picky): 1. The bathroom had an amazing shower and a fancy weighing scale (who would want that with all the great food so close by?!) yet had one of those horrible hotel hairdryers that you have to hold down the button to keep it switched on making it hard to style hair. Felt that this was a disappointment given the spec of the room. 2. Parking is free in the four martyrs car park -but you're not guaranteed a space. We arrived in Rethymno at 1pm on a Monday, wanting to have lunch and visit the town a bit before checking in. We were very lucky to get a space (and almost gave up)! It would be nice if the hotel could work an arrangement with the car park to reserve spaces for guests - especially since the hotel contacted us in advance re parking etc and this is the closest car park to the hotel for transporting luggage. I would be willing to pay a nominal fee of 10 euros to have a guaranteed space for 24 hrs / be able to come and go to visit the surrounding countryside. 3. Breakfast was great yet the fruit juice was very watery - again more of a let down based on how good everything else was!"

"Beautiful, clean hotel with nice service, and a nice pool, close to the beach. Only negatives were that double beds consisted of two single beds next to each other and that the hot tub wasn’t working. "

"We paid a pretty reasonable price for this beaitiful hotel. Facilities are new and clean. The spa is small but very nice , they only take 6 people per time. The hotel is not in the seafront as I thought but it has its own sun loungers/bar services at the rethymno beach which is one small block away. We had half board booking and the breakfast buffet was very good with great variety of food. Dinner buffet was okay, not the best food we've had in hotel buffets but also not terrible. I believe it to be fair for the price we paid. The area around is really nice, with restaurants, cafes, shops along the beach and only 10min walk to Rethymno old town. Parking was a bit difficult at times but manageable if you follow the greek rules of parking which is none 😂 Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel and its services. They even offered some entertainment at the bar area during the weekend. It was just a shame that the pool was not heated enough for kids to be able to swim more comfortably/often. (We went during Easter). "
