Rainbow Falls can only be seen by hiking the 2 additional miles from Devils Postpile (0.4 mi) from the trailhead. The only way to reach the trailhead is by taking a shuttle inside Devils Postpile National Monument in Mammoth, California. The hike is easy but fairly open so it can get pretty hot in the summer, but the view of Rainbow Falls is absolutely gorgeous! Highly recommend making the trip if you’re in Mammoth. "Excellent hotel and great location! Perfect base for our family of four visiting Yosemite. Many restaurant choices nearby, including a great bbq place across the street. Most importantly, the entire hotel staff was outstanding! I unfortunately left two shirts in the closet and didn't know until I arrived to our hotel in LA. Called the hotel to see if they had it, and they did. They told me to create a shipping label with a carrier of my choice, and they would gladly package and mail my forgotten items. Particularly Chase, who truly went above and beyond helping me out! Thank you!"
