"Employees were very polite, never had to wait in a long line at the desk. Very pretty location, and got a room at a reasonable rate (months in advance). Parking was $45-not cheap. And they charge because they can-not because it is in the middle of a downtown area. In other locations, the parking could be free. There were some dirty undies left behind by a previous guest in the bathroom cabinet. Not awesome. And there was a key card from a previous guest under the nightstand. The mini fridge was not plugged in. I tried to plug it in through the hole in the back of the dresser, but that didn’t work. So, I removed the mini fridge from the dresser, moved it under the desk & had a working mini-fridge for my visit. The bathroom & floors looked clean. The beds looked clean. The shower looked clean. The garbages were clean and empty on check in. But, cleanliness comes in to question when previous guest belongings are overlooked. It happens, but ick."

"Staff and front desk were so nice and helpful offered us waters upon check in. The lobby was really nice. The store did not have necessary items stocked but they gave me some sanitary items. The only complaint is the carpet in the hallway where the elevators and rooms are needs to be replaced or professionally cleaned. The stains were really bad. The bed was comfortable and it was a great location for catching early flights."

"I have stayed at the Shattuck a few times now and it would be difficult to stay anywhere else close to UC Berkeley. It is so well worth it. I feel rested here and well taken care of. I take the BART from the Oakland airport to downtown Berkeley. And when I get off the Hotel is right across the street. The food at the restaurant is amazing. About to book my next stay here in a few months."

"Our room was lovely and very clean. The pool was full of families, and I saw several airport employees in the lobby which is always a good sign. The view was beautiful both day and night (we paid for the bay view). Breakfast was average for a free hotel buffet. It is incredibly close to the highway and even closer to the train station. We were not staying here on an extended business trip, but this would be a great place to do so with the kitchenette. The only slight downside is the parking, while it was plentiful, had I been alone at night I would have felt a bit uncomfortable. It’s not covered, and I didn’t see any security. I absolutely would stay here again."
