"My wife and I loved our time at this property. It has a very cute garden where we would sit and have tea. We also enjoyed the art display in the living room, which was all made by the host’s mother. "We really enjoyed staying in a real house in a real neighborhood for our trip to Kyoto. There was plenty of room for our small family, and we felt we had a more authentic visit to this beautiful city. A couple things to note for those who read reviews is that the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep and narrow, and I worried for my husband navigating them in the dark at night. "I was such a beautiful place to stay! There was plenty of room, and plenty of pillows - rare in Japan! The decoration was very tasteful and welcoming. Staircase was a little narrow, but this is common in Japan and not a fault of the owner. There was only one toilet, which worked fine for our family of 4. "The property seems to be recently updated, it is modern, and clean. The amenity is lacking a few things (for example, it tells the guest to wash dishes and put them away but doesn’t provide a clothe to dry them). Also, the instruction isn’t super clear. "We had an excellent stay. We stayed at multiple hotels during this trip and this was our favorite. The room was quite spacious and well thought out with lots of places to set or hang items. It had everything we needed and was comfortable. We appreciated the water available also. The location was good. The hotel is very nice and well kept, would stay again."

"Arriving from Osaka airport, the limousine bus stops right in front of this hotel, huge bonus points for a family traveling with young kids and 6 luggages. There is a 24 hour family mart (think 7/11) at the street level of the hotel, 2nd floor connects you to the train station, 8th floor is the “restaurant row” where there is a variety of local options for dining, and there is an adjoining mall that connects to the 8th floor. The mall has some 5/6 floors and provides endless shopping from toys to clothes to home goods, etc. Cannot express enough how convenient this whole hotel complex building is. Rooms are not big but sufficient with bathtub and standing shower room (standard for Japan). Would definitely stay again."
