Papantla is not on the tourist trail but nearby El Tajín does draw visitors, and many stay here. If you want luxury hotels, stay in Poza Rica. If you prefer a charming Mexican town and real local flavor, stay here. Just don’t expect the Hilton. "

"Very clean and safe. The hotel staff is very friendly, The lobby area is very welcoming, the rooms were a little dated but very clean and comfortable. I would take the cleanliness over a modern look anyday. I would stay here again. "

"Overall, our stay was okay. It was not the cleanest place, they had issues with a lot of insects, granted the area and the temps will heighten this but I had to move rooms multiple times because of issues each room had. It was inconvenient for me as I traveled with two small children making things a lot harder. I would probably not stay there again if given the opportunity. "

"The hotel is basic and clean. The rooms are spacious and with good AC and wifi. The bathrooms are small and the one we strayed had a couple of mold stains. The restaurant was a surprise. The food was delicious. "
