"The staff was very friendly, and both the property and my room were clean. The location was convenient to the center of town, and street parking was easy to find. I especially appreciated the magazines in different languages provided in the room, as I love to read at night and had forgotten to bring my own. The bed was also very comfortable, and I had a great night's sleep."

"A very old and tired hotel. Room had not been aired for a long time so smelled damp and musty - I had to open the window as soon as I entered the room. Old furniture, old and dilapidated bathroom / shower. Span and gym not available. Swimming pool available but costs €18 for a swim! I dont expect to pay as a guest of the hotel. This place is a real jewel. Family owned and run. Amazing scenery and an excellent opportunity to dine one site while sitting next to the original stone wine vats used by the family to make wine for generations. I can't say enough about how charming this place is. It is a bit remote, but worth the drive.

We loved our three night stay at Memoria Porto. The staff treated us like royalty and our room overlooked the Douro River. One tip, we can offer is to take the # 500 bus to the coast and pay a lot less for authentic Portugese food, wine, and beer. We will definitely be back. The morning breakfast was filling and delightful.
