"The property had a good layout, parking and a nice looking pool and hot tub. However, the gym inadequate and consisted of a poorly functioning treadmill, one other small piece of equipment and a few hand weights. No mats. The staff was limited, but was polite and accommodating. The only breakfast an available was a $12 per person buffet, no coffee in the lobby and no restaurant otherwise. There was a bar open Saturday night. It appeared that property hadn’t been updated or maintained in years. In our room the carpet was old, one of the 2 sinks had a nonfunctional hot water handle, that fell off in my husband’s hand. The shower curtain rod was bent and coming loose from the wall. One of the electrical outlet covers was loose dangling from the wall. "

"The staff were very nice. The room was bare-bones but we were comfortable. It was in a easy to get into the downtown area. We were there for a DPAC concert. If you're not picky and want an economical place to stay for a night or two, this could work."

"I booked a king bed. When we arrived got 2 queen beds. I called front desk first told me I didn't, and then put us in the room I booked. After 20 minutes of the air not working went to front desk and they said going to send someone up. After another 15 minutes moved us to another room with 2 queen beds. I will not stay here ever again."

"They provide the bare minimum. Don’t clean up the rooms during your stay, don’t freshen up the room either. If you happen to need an extra towel you have to go to the lobby to try to get one. Breakfast ran out before ten am. It felt like a hostal in a third world country. Definitely overpriced for the service provided."

"A very nice, well-appointed, modern room and motel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The proximity to Duke Hospital and Medical Centers is very convenient. I enjoyed my stay."

"We left right after checking in and paid for one night rather than actually staying there. The room door barely closed, the elevator was patched with duct tape, the hallway was dark and dirty, the towels looked like old rags, the attendent at checkin said we should park on the far side of the parking lot so we could see our car from the room, (like I should also be worried about my car!). We felt so umcomfortable, we just left and for a small amout more stayed in a hotel that was 1000% better. Fortunately the representative at Hotels.com was able to help us and even gave us some of the money back that we lost for the last minute cancellation. It is listed at about a 7, it should be as 1"

"Carpets throughout were stained, sheers in room were torn and room very tired. Clean but in need up updating. Disappointing overall for the price of the room. Hotel is close to Duke and we did find a great place to eat. Try Local 22 Kitchen & Bar. Very good restaurant, reasonably priced nice atmosphere. Would have chosen a different hotel if condition was known ahead of time. "
