"Room was clean with a beautiful view. The pool was nice and used by all but would be nice to have some covered area for when it's sprinkling or raining to protect towels and such. Having the restaurant downstairs was also fantastic with excellent service. Front desk staff was helpful. Good location."

"Lava Rock Retreat is a very cool property, modern & stylish with a touch of tech. The grounds are simply amazing with all sorts of plants and flowers, hot tub, outdoor showers and lighting. The house was clean and had everything you need for cooking and great coffee making. I would highly recommend this spot for your stay in Hilo."

"Lory and Stewart were gracious hosts, and their property is a quaint island getaway! The room was clean and nicely furnished. The back yard was huge and beautiful. And the breakfasts served on the back porch were delicious and a nice opportunity to converse with the hosts and other guests."

"A wonderful guesthouse a few miles outside of town. It had everything we needed and the communication with the owners was great. The only small downside was the combo washer/dryer took 5 hours to do a very small load and we couldn't use it overnight because it was right next to the pullout bed."

"Very nice stay! Everything was thought of in this creative and lovely space. Comfortable bed - well appointed with every amenity. We enjoyed the hot tub, and next time will definitely make use of the bbq and out door kitchen area. Would definitely return to this spot and highly recommend."
