Quiet get-away in Lush Tropical Setting- 5 min walk to snorkeling beach!

"This was our second stay! We loved it the first time and we had to come back. We loved it the second time too. Catherine’s home has been perfect for us for our stays in Hawaii. We love the openness of the home and the wonderful lanai. I will never get tired of listen to the birds while drinking coffee on the lanai. We cooked a few dinners at the home, and the kitchen had everything we needed and more - plenty of cookware, utensils, a good selection of spices - you name it. Both bathrooms are well stocked with shampo, conditioner, body wash, reef-friendly sunscreen, and lots of towels - beach towels too. We love the proximity to quiet beaches and snorkeling locations. There are also plenty of great restaurants and coffee shops a short drive away. We took our son to The Theatery (restaurant) for his 19th birthday. Amazing meal and wonderful service - a great view too.We hope to be back soon. Thank you so much for a great stay!"

"The location is great as long as you have a car for the short trips to town and the ocean. Check in was easy, just keep in touch and it's easy.The fresh mangoes and abundant colorful bird activity were highlights. Even though not in the listing, there were a variety of snorkel gear in good shape for use, along with chairs and beach towels. There's also a blender for use in making fruity rum drinks (or others as you wish).The screened deck area was where we spent most of our time watching the wildlife and being more in nature. The owner is responsive to reports of any issues, and we enjoyed talking to him. Be sure to set your expectations accordingly. This isn't some fancy resort where everything is new and shiny. There is plenty of "character" in the cottage, from the many different light switches, to eclectic furniture and nick knacks. It's a small farm cottage, so enjoy it for being just that!With this in mind, we really enjoyed our time here and are looking forward to a time when we can return. "

"This place is for the adventurer at heart. If you can’t handle cabin like conditions…interfacing with the wild & the noise displayed by the night critters & beautiful birds singing their hearts away early morning, this is not for you! We even had a gecko that would pop in to have breakfast with us…he loved jelly! The host & staff are very friendly & put out an organic spread for breakfast to start your day. It’s pretty remote out there, but there is an amazing place called the coffee shack a few miles away that has excellent lattes & an amazing menu. It’s very busy, but worth the wait. We rented a 4x4 jeep & went off roading & it was a magnificent experience. Made it out to the Green Beach which was absolutely worth the rough ride."

"Fantastic home and location in Captain Cook. Felt like we were in a treehouse on the bay. Well appointed home and kitchen with everything you could need. Incredible views and spacious enough for 6 adults and one kid to do everything we wanted. Plenty of fans to keep the house cool and we truly had a magical stay! "
