Kamuro An
3.0 star property
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (66)
"Our family of four had a wonderful stay at Kamuro An. Our downstairs room was large, with space for four futons, a separate sitting area, and a sink/dressing room. The toilet, shower and bath were down the hall, which did not bother us at all. From Kamuro An, we could walk to Kiyomizu Dera temple, Gion and more sights on the east side of Kyoto. Best of all was the hospitality. Okami-san was so warm and kind, and she enjoyed teaching us about Japanese customs. Her breakfasts were beautiful and...

"We (small family from USA) arrived for our first time in Kyoto and felt like we were taking a chance on this house rental. We realized immediately how lucky we were to get to stay here. The home is absolutely beautiful, clean, quiet, charming, and in a wonderful location in the Gion district, close to lots of sites, restaurants, shops, and old world charm. We wished we could have stayed longer. In fact, after staying here we are contemplating moving to Kyoto for a year just to enjoy it more. The...

Kiyomizu Sannenzaka
2.5 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (73)
"Great place to stay, in Kyoto, is a bit of a walk from the nearest bus and not close to many train lines, so your stuck taking the overly packed 206 bus. The place was nice, lots of space luggage. Laundry situation was good, however there wasn’t any laundry soap, or hand soap. Dishes could be purchased I believe through the hotel. All in all I’d recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Kyoto."
