"We loved this hotel. A real oasis in the hills away from the amazing hustle and bustle of downtown Rio. Wonderful staff who were very happy to help you out. A lovely restaurant where we celebrated our friend’s birthday. Wonderful balcony room with a slight view of Christ Reedemer. Loved the pool and pool bar, although the cocktail making could do with some attention, and the staff there were slow. Would come back to stay if ever in Rio again. "

"The pros: The area is safe and convenient to Metro, buses, and there is a taxi stand in from of the hotel. The Metro is only a few blocks away and can take you to the beaches and other attractions. "We stayed here during Carnival and just prior to boarding a cruise. I loved this older, colonial boutique hotel. The bed was comfortable. There was no air conditioning in our room but the fan in there was perfect and kept us cool all night. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. But best of all was the staff and the owners. They helped FIND and RETRIEVE our luggage which didn't arrive for our entire stay with them. But they were able to get it for us the day we were leaving to board our...
