"Very disappointing experience staying at Leeds Marriott Hotel with my family. The room was extremely small, not properly tidy, and not clean at all. Basic things like complimentary water, proper toiletries, and drinking water were missing from the room. The windows were broken, which made the stay even worse. The biggest issue was accessibility — the lift area is not friendly for pushchairs or wheelchairs. There are stairs before reaching the lift, so families need to physically carry pushchairs or wheelchairs by two people. This is very inconvenient and unacceptable for a family hotel. Parking was also a nightmare with no proper parking facilities available. On top of that, the WiFi connection was the worst I have ever experienced. I started searching/loading something on the WiFi and literally fell asleep waiting — it still hadn’t properly connected even by the next day. Overall, a very poor family experience and definitely not what we expected from a Marriott hotel. Would not recommend for families, especially those with children or wheelchair users."

"Good location close to the station and the city centre. We booked to stay 3 nights and checked out after just one. Had upgraded to a minster view room, which did have a nice river view and the room looked nice enough. However, the mattress was so hard that we might as well have been sleeping on the floor. The shower also had a broken thermostat so was impossible to get a good temperature. Both our backs hurt so much it ruined our day spent walking around York. When we checked in the member of staff could not have given less of a crap but when we went down to check out after one night we very much expected them to at least ask why we were leaving so early, possibly offer us a different room (though we fully expected all rooms to have the same beds, hence deciding to just leave) but nope, barely even looked at us and clearly just wanted us to leave. We won’t book here again. I will add that there was a gentleman member of staff who was very helpful and friendly, I think he may have been a cleaner and was of Asian origin. His smiling face was the only welcoming thing about this place."

"Very cool hotel with lots to do in the congregation area. They had some games, live trivia and a pool table. Nice bar with drink specials. A very modern hotel experience. Would go back and going to another Moxy tomorrow."

"We chose the hotel for its location and the fact that there was parking. Other than checking in, we had no real interaction with the staff because we booked one of the apartments. It was ideal - bedroom, bathroom and kitchen with sitting/dining area. There was a small grocery store around the corner where we could buy supplies. We were only about a 10 -15 minute walk to York Minster and other interesting sights."
