"I had an amazing stay at the Fairmont Empress. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the service was excellent throughout. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Victoria and close to everything. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it."

"Our review of the Dashwood Manor is pretty mixed. On the plus side, the staff was friendly the location is excellent and the bed was comfortable. But for the price we paid, we expected more. There is zero room cleaning during your stay, which was surprising. The breakfasts were just ok, and were identical both days we were there except eggs were replaced by pancakes the second day. The room we were in - the Dorset - is on the third floor, and the bathroom ceiling has an extreme pitch. This made it so anyone over 4' tall can't see themselves in the mirror over the sink. There is a larger mirror on the other side of the bathroom, but there's no lighting there. The shower was so tiny we couldn't bend over to wash our feet. "

"Clean and simple accomodations. Does not have 'all the modern conveniences' but does have all the necessities. We came for one night and didn't spend a lot of time, but it was quiet for sleeping and restful. Were the last to park and had to walk around the corner, but we expected to be late and this could happen. We really like the place and would return. "
