"We arrived late after a long drive but were warmly welcomed and shown to our room. The hotel is comfy with friendly staff and a nice continental breakfast. It's a good place if you need to break a long journey, but not perhaps what you would choose as a holiday destination. It was fine for us, so thank you!"

"Friendly staff, great breakfast, beautiful grounds, comfortable bed, personal preference- I didn’t like the pillows, worn carpet, creaky floors. I suppose they add to the ambiance of the historical hotel. We were too hot during the night so propped the window open to get fresh air. Didn’t have any other way to regulate the temperature of the room"

"We only stayed a short time due to our tight schedule, but we loved every second we did spend here! The property is gorgeous and the hotel is located in such a quiet area with no traffic. It's great for when you want to be close to Edinburgh without being right in downtown. Perfect escape from the city!"
