Tides Folly Beach, Charleston's Oceanfront Hotel

"This was my first time staying at The Tides hotel. The staff was excellent and rooms were very comfortable and clean! The free beach chairs were great and the clerk text me to remind me to return the chairs by 6pm. The sundry store in the lobby had everything I needed including medicine and a Starbucks latte at 6am! I talked to other guests who told me they were impressed with the hotel, visiting for the first time as well. During a very bad thunderstorm, the lights went out for a few seconds which caused the elevators to trip off, but the staff immediately texted all the guests asking if they needed assistance and provided a short time to restoration which they met."

"I did not book this place or see the property description. This home is used for 3 separate vacation rentals, so privacy could be a problem. The other renters were quiet, so it was ok. Other than that, everything was good enough."

"Excellent residential property with nice private pool & back yard, Excellent location & VERY close walk to pretty beach free of crowds. Excellent AC, appliances and upstairs laundry (tho noisy washer and smallish refrigerators). Nice propane BBQ Grill. Completely separate units connected only with outside stairwell. Superb lower floor for family with kids or elderly with wheelchair. Upstairs used as adult quarters and sanctuary with AC sunroom. Very responsive property manager on single maintenance item with dehumidifiers running 100% & application of air fresheners downstairs. Dueling kitchen supplies/cookware between upstairs and downstairs units problematic (needs metal cookie sheets & bakeware upgrade)...but remedy by complete inventory list made available to renters and checked by management prior to rental? Also upstairs bath sink faucet handles (hot/cold) installed backwards. NOTE: Folly Beach has an island parking problem BUT this Property handles 6 cars. Would rent this property again next year."

"The property was great for our large family and had a lot of space for everyone. Loved the sunroom in the back for additional space. Negatives were the internet and TV’s were hard to set up. VRBO details said there were games but we found none. Kitchen was well stocked and furniture was comfortable. Floors were worn and dirty when we checked in."

"Perfect location. The covered porch was wonderful on the few days we had a bit of rain. Plenty of seats so we could all enjoy the outside while staying dry. Kitchen was well stocked, we cooked meals for 10 adults each day with no issues. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Large driveway that fit 4 cars. Great stay!"

"We came down for a guys' golf weekend, and it was the perfect setup. The house is modern, spacious, and well laid out, with four comfortable bedrooms. After our rounds, we loved grilling by the pool, relaxing with a few drinks in the courtyard, and unwinding together. The location is excellent—inside the second gate with easy access to the Ocean Course and all the other Kiawah courses. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Thanks for a great weekend!"

"Charming inn close to center of Folly, but far enough away. Excellent food and super sweet staff. The WiFi was a bit challenging. But, it did not keep us from loving our time at the inn. We will be back."
