"A lovely, characterful old building on the edge of the Lake District, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, helping us feel right at home. It is very convenient as a base, being on the road between Penrith and Pooley Bridge with a direct bus route between the two, going as far as Windermere, and for drivers it is a good place to access most parts of the Lake District, being not far from the M6 and A66, making access to Carlisle and the Scottish borders equally easy.
