"I was a bit apprehensive before arriving at the hotel as the price seemed to good to be true, but the staff were fantastic super friendly and helpful making jokes etc, the room we were in was very dated but it didn’t take away from the weekend we had, the spa was great and breakfast was yummy. Great location if you are wanting to climb Snowden only a short drive away. The town its self is super cute some lovely places to eat and drink. The only negative I will say is we had to pay £10 per night to park but apparently that was because we booked through a third party if you book direct it’s free. Also the receptionist did say they may be able to price match so definitely worth giving them a call if your thinking of staying. We would definitely stay there again. "

"The actual hotel was lovely particularly if you are looking for a certain vibe. It was a well renovated country house that was a delight to stay at. The main issue is that the location is not near anything and feels a bit remote. The grounds could use a little attention as well, but this is of lesser importance. The family who operate the hotel are invested and are a delight"

"Disappointed that I was not notified that they had a wedding at the hotel as this affect my stay, no food being served at night and the poor staff was extremely busy, I had to go somewhere else to get a drink. "

"This hotel is super convenient- fantastic in fact. HOWEVER, the walls are paper thin, the heating comes on all through the night and is loud, and the bed and pillows are pretty uncomfortable. The food is great. So, take ear plugs and your own pillow and you may get some sleep."

"Nice hotel rooms were clean and tidy, good shower. Staff we found one member of staff quite rude to my wife when we arrived so wasn’t a good start. The bar staff on the Saturday evening were excellent 2 lads and a girl behind the bar really did shine, and won us back. Breakfast was poor on the Sunday morning. We didn’t really know how breakfast and would stop to help. No side plates no glasses for your orange juice , the bread box was empty for too long. The breakfast was warm and that’s about it. Nice hotel few faults, we won’t go back."

"A wonderful stay at Oakley Hotel! The rooms are full of charm — beautifully old-style yet surprisingly comfortable. Dinner, we are steak pie which was delicious and breakfast were both delicious, and the staff were warm and welcoming throughout. Highly recommend!"
